As a former teen mom myself, I intimately understand the challenges and obstacles that
pregnant teens and young mothers face on a daily basis. My journey into motherhood at
such a young age was not easy, but it was a pivotal experience that shaped my passion
and determination to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar
circumstances.
Becoming a mother as a teenager brought with it a whirlwind of emotions – fear,
uncertainty, and overwhelming responsibility. I struggled to navigate a world that often
seemed unsupportive and judgmental, with few resources or opportunities available to
help me succeed. However, through pure determination and the support of a few key
individuals, I was able to overcome the odds and build a bright future for myself and my
children.
My personal experience as a teen mom ignited a fire within me to create positive
change and support systems for other young mothers in similar situations. I realized
that there was a profound need for comprehensive, compassionate, and empowering
programs and services tailored specifically to the unique needs of pregnant teens and
teen moms.
Driven by my passion to make a difference, I embarked on a journey to establish
Purpose Fulfilled Coalition (PFC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing holistic
support, education, and empowerment to pregnant teens and young mothers in our
community. Through PFC, I aim to create a safe and nurturing space where young
mothers can access the resources, guidance, and encouragement they need to thrive –
academically, personally, and as parents.
My personal journey as a teen mom serves as the foundation of PFC inspiring every
aspect of our work and guiding our mission to empower young mothers to break the
cycle of poverty, overcome adversity, and achieve their full potential. Together, with the
support of our community and partners, we are transforming the lives of teen moms
and their children, one story of resilience and hope at a time.
